Marek Herburt is originally from Lodz, Poland and migrated to Australia in 1982. He began his art journey as a child and studied art through his youth and went on to study in the Academy of Art.
Permitting his artistic pursuit is the ongoing fascination with light and the effect it has on colour and form. His work increasingly reflects an awareness of Australian light on the environment.
Charming in dynamic design and with a variety of colours, depending on the time of the day or season, Mallee Trees have become central themes in many of his paintings. Wandering throughout South Australia Marek notices these trees are behind every corner and along stretched highways
